Having risen through ranks to be the Food & Beverage Captain, Kasun was the first runner-up of the MIDORI Bartender Challenge 2013 and was the first and second runner-up at the SIMONDOU Tea Mixology Challenge 2012 under Tea Cocktail Category and SIMONDOU Tea Mixology Challenge 2012 under Tea Mocktail Category, accordingly.
Our Chef De Partie K P Madusha Priyantha too has displayed exceptional talent in fruit and vegetable carving, ice and butter sculpting at a series of global and local competitions since 1999 and his creations grace the buffet and dinner tables at The Palms.
Yet, the most outstanding success story of all would be of Ms. Kanchana Silva, who joined the ranks at The Palms Hotel as a Trainee Linen Room Attendant. Despite her current position as a Linen Room Assistant, Kanchana went ahead to win the gold, silver, and bronze for Culinary Art for the year 2013 in Vodka Redbull Cocktail, Mocktail and Cocktail competitions after receiving an extra training.
